Day 16—Wednesday, August 17—Wurtz Cabin to Whitefish, MT

Got a good start to the day which began with a 12 mile climb of 1600 feet up to Red Meadow which had a beautiful lake perfect for a midday swim.
The remaining 35 miles was a general descent into Whitefish where we got a bite to eat and then found the State Park on Whitefish Lake: second swim of the day!
Lotsa variety in the landscape!
Turns out Andy has to return to Tucson to take care of family. In ten days together he has become a trusted traveling companion and a navigator extraordinaire. I need to pay more attention now to the map!
