Early morning: chilly and finger-numbing riding.
Climbing up and out of the valley to the next one; the road gets crazy steep

Mark Sosich saved my life: at the top of the climb before a long descent, he gave me two liters of his water. Many thanks Mark! I was pretty much on empty and the cows were a little too close to the stream where I might have gotten water.

Coming into Lima. Someone asked me if the ride gets tedious…at times: it’s these long frontage roads that get us from gravel road to gravel road.
The motel where we got a shower and could do our laundry for about $5
